My heart’s desire for the Youth Ministry is to encourage the kids to grow in grace and knowledge of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and to see them rooted and grounded in the Word of God. As a teacher, my responsibility is not to entertain the youth, but to preach the Gospel to a generation in need of Jesus.
As Jeremiah wrote in Lamentations 2:19 “”…pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him for the life of your young children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street.” I believe this to be just as true today.
This generation is growing up seeking and hungering to fill the void in their lives that no amount of social media, financial gain and me-first philosophy can ever do. Only the love of Jesus can ever fill this void.
The cares of this world will sweep this next generation away if they are not taught the simple truth of the Gospel. My heart is to see each and every young person has a vibrant and intimate relationship with Jesus. When the trials come they can be confident in the hope that is found in the blessedness of our Savior.
